William Arnold Newton (July 26, 1965 – October 29, 1990), professionally known as Billy London or Billy Porter, was an American gay pornographic actor, producer, makeup artist, and beautician from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Leaving home at 16, he traveled the U.S., earned a GED in Los Angeles in 1989, and worked in music videos. Meeting producer David Rey at Hollywood Spa, they became lovers and co-founded London-Rey Productions in 1987. Newton starred in films like *The Grip of Passion*, handled makeup, sets, and production. Planning a move to Las Vegas, he was last seen at West Hollywood's Rage Nightclub. His dismembered body—head and arm in bags—was found in a dumpster the next day, sparking the unsolved 'gay Black Dahlia' murder case amid 1990s AIDS-era homophobia. After 33 years, amateur sleuths identified Daralyn Madden in 2023; a 2026 documentary captured his confession, solving the case.
