Herbert John Streicher, known as Harry Reems (August 27, 1947 – March 19, 2013), was an American pornographic actor and later a real estate agent. Born in New York City to a Jewish family, he studied dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh, served in the U. S.
Marine Corps, and acted in off-Broadway theater. In 1972, he starred as Doctor Young in the cult classic Deep Throat, earning $250, and appeared in about 140 adult films from 1971–1974 and 1982–1985, including The Devil in Miss Jones (1973), Forced Entry (1973), and Sex Wish (1976). He also featured in mainstream films like Deadly Weapons (1974) and National Lampoon’s Movie Madness (1982).
Arrested in 1974 for conspiracy to distribute obscenity via Deep Throat, convicted in 1976, his case—supported by celebrities—was overturned in 1977. After drug abuse and homelessness, he recovered in 1989, married Jeanne Sterret in 1990, converted to Christianity, retired from porn in 1985, and died of pancreatic cancer in Salt Lake City at 65.
