Jack Sin, an alias of the iconic Herschel Savage (born Harvey Cohen, November 25, 1952, Brooklyn, New York β October 8, 2023, Los Angeles, California), was a prolific American pornographic actor, director, and stage performer. Of Russian-Jewish descent, he served in Vietnam as a Navy SEAL, then trained as an actor under Uta Hagen and Stella Adler. Debuting in adult films in 1974, he starred in Golden Age classics like 'Debbie Does Dallas' (1978), 'Expose Me Now', 'Bodies in Heat', and 'Rambone Does Hollywood'. With over 2,000 scenes under aliases including Jack Sin, Jack Soft, Joel Black, and Bill Barry, he earned AVN Awards, XRCO Hall of Fame induction (1988), and Legends of Erotica honors. A lifelong Buddhist, he directed films from 1991-2020, performed theater, featured in 'After Porn Ends', and staged his one-man show 'Porn Star: My Life in the Sex Industry' in 2016.
