Manuel Ferrara, born Manuel Jeannin on November 1, 1975, in Le Raincy, France, to a French electrician father and Spanish immigrant mother, grew up in Gagny and lost his father at 17. He trained as a P.E. teacher before entering the adult industry in 1997 via a magazine ad, adopting the stage name due to resemblance to boxer Stéphane Ferrara.
