Sharon Mitchell (born January 18, 1956, New Jersey, USA) is an American former pornographic actress, director, and sexologist. She entered the adult film industry in the mid-1970s, appearing in nearly 1,000 films over two decades, including classics like "Water Power" (1976), "The Devil in Miss Jones Part II" (1982), and "Sexcapades" (1983). She also directed 38 films and was the subject of the acclaimed documentary "Kamikaze Hearts" (1986), which explored her relationship and career. Mitchell battled heroin addiction during her performing years. In 1996, after surviving a brutal assault by a stalker, she quit drugs, earned an MA and PhD in human sexuality, and founded the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) in 1998. AIM provided STD testing and education to porn performers, significantly impacting industry health standards until closing in 2011. Inducted into the AVN and XRCO Halls of Fame, she remains a legendary figure in adult entertainment.
