Linda Susan Boreman (January 10, 1949 – April 22, 2002) was an American pornographic actress who rose to fame in the 1970s vintage era. Born in New York City to a working-class family, she endured an unhappy upbringing and early hardships, including giving up a child for adoption and a car accident causing hepatitis via transfusion, leading to a liver transplant in 1987. Coerced by abusive husband Chuck Traynor, whom she married in 1971 and divorced in 1975, Boreman entered pornography.
She starred in early loops like Dogarama (1969, bestiality) and Piss Orgy (1971), but her breakthrough was Deep Throat (1972), a hardcore film where she performed deep-throating, grossing over $600 million while she earned only $1,250, seized by Traynor. Controversies arose from allegations of rape, violence, and coercion detailed in her 1980 autobiography Ordeal, where she claimed, "if you watch the movie, you are watching me get raped." She appeared in sequels like Deep Throat II (1974) and Linda Lovelace for President (1975).
Later, marrying Larry Marchiano in 1976, she had three children, left the industry, became a born-again Christian, and advocated against pornography, testifying at the 1986 Meese Commission. She died at 53 from accident injuries.
