William Higgins was a pioneering American director and producer in the gay adult film industry. Born on December 19, 1942, in Oklahoma, USA, he launched his career in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during the 1970s after facing distribution challenges with other studios. Higgins founded Catalina Video and created numerous classic gay porn films known for their quality and storytelling.
Relocating to Prague in 1996, he established a major production base in the Czech Republic, capitalizing on local talent including young military personnel. Operating sometimes under the alias Wim Hof, he became renowned for his artistic vision and early adoption of online distribution. Higgins mentored and featured many performers through his studio, influencing the industry significantly.
He passed away on December 21, 2019, from a heart attack in Prague at age 77. His legacy endures through his extensive body of work spanning over four decades.
