Zebedy Colt, born Edward Earle Marsh on December 20, 1929, in Santa Barbara, California, was a multifaceted American entertainer best known as an adult film actor, director, and musician during the Golden Age of pornography. Beginning as a child actor with uncredited roles in classics like Babes in Toyland (1934) and The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Marsh transitioned into music, pioneering queer cabaret with his 1960s album I’ll Sing for You, featuring gay reinterpretations of standards recorded with the London Philharmonic. He performed on Broadway, understudying in The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd, and directed regional theater.
Entering adult films in his late 40s, Colt directed seminal works such as Farmer's Daughters (1976), White Fire (1976), The Devil Inside Her (1977), and Terri's Revenge (1977). As a performer, he appeared in The Story of Joanna, Barbara Broadcast, Manhold, and Sex Wish. Retiring in the early 1980s due to industry shifts, he lived in Las Vegas until his death on May 29, 2004.
