Samantha Fox, born Stasia Micula on December 3, 1950, in New York City to a diplomat father and Scottish mother, was an iconic American pornographic actress of the Golden Age of Porn. After studying art at Sarah Lawrence College and briefly attending Hunter College for physical therapy, she entered the adult film industry in 1976 following modeling gigs for Cheri and Hustler magazines. Her debut was 'Here Comes the Bride' (1977), launching a prolific career spanning over 100 films until 1984. Collaborating frequently with director Chuck Vincent on 'Bad Penny' (1978) and 'Double Your Pleasure,' she earned AFAA Best Actress awards for 'Jack 'n Jill' (1980) and 'This Lady is a Tramp' (1981).
Standout roles included 'Roommates' (1982), 'The Devil in Miss Jones 2' (1982), and horror-comedy 'A Night to Dismember' (1983). In a 24-year relationship with actor Bobby Astyr until his 2002 death, Fox struggled with addiction but later detoxed, worked as a fitness instructor, and advocated for tenants' rights. Inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame, she died April 22, 2020, at 69 from cardiovascular illness, possibly COVID-related.
