Rayveness, born Gina-Raye Carter (also Karen M. Swaim) on June 19, 1972, in Jamestown, North Carolina, is an acclaimed American adult film actress of German, Irish, British, and Finnish descent. Raised in the Quaker faith, she married young before graduating Ragsdale High School in 1990. After jobs in fast food, Avon sales, and babysitting, she entered porn at 18 with a homemade tape inspired by TV, initially working only with husband Red Bone and women. Divorcing in 1997, she expanded her roles, took a mainstream acting hiatus (2000-2003) in NYPD Blue and Path to War, remarried Tod Alexander (div. 2003), and advocated raising performer age to 21.
