Georgina Spelvin, born Shelley Bob Graham on March 1, 1936, in Houston, Texas, was an American actress and pioneering pornographic performer. Her career began on Broadway as dancer and chorus girl Chele Graham in productions like Cabaret, Guys and Dolls, and Sweet Charity. She also choreographed and designed lighting. In her mid-30s, broke and battling alcoholism, she entered hardcore porn via director Gerard Damiano, adopting her famous stage name—a play on 'George Spelvin.'
She starred in the iconic The Devil in Miss Jones (1973), playing a woman who suicides and explores lust in the afterlife. Appearing in over 70 adult films, she won AFAA Best Actress for Desires Within Young Girls (1977) and lifetime honors from XRCO and AVN. Retiring in 1982 after sobriety in 1981, she worked in desktop publishing for the Los Angeles Times until 2004, penned her autobiography The Devil Made Me Do It (2008), and cameo-ed in Police Academy films and documentaries.
