Keli Richards, born May 25, 1966, in Norwood, Massachusetts, was the youngest of eight children in an Irish-Italian family, raised in Dedham. With her strong Boston accent, she entered adult films in 1984 at 18, guided by agent Jim South. Thriving in the mid-1980s VHS era under Reagan, she starred in over 70 movies and magazine spreads, working with legends like John Holmes, Tom Byron, Nina Hartley, Jerry Butler, Patti Petite, and Ron Jeremy. Known for big hair and enthusiasm, she built a devoted following.
She retired late 1980s after the Traci Lords scandal, marrying Barry Kalfin (1986-1987), then battled cocaine addiction and anorexia, reaching rock bottom amid family estrangement. After decades away, including Rochester, NY, she attempted a 50s comeback. In 2018, The Rialto Report podcast and $2,000 fundraiser spotlighted her survival story; now she runs Back Door Productions, works in medical care, and performs, embodying resilience: "I’m my father’s daughter."
