Jon Martin, born October 24, 1947, in San Francisco, California, is an American adult film pioneer, actor, and director. A theater enthusiast who studied with Uta Hagen and Stella Adler, he served in the Navy before entering porn in 1972 with the Mitchell Brothers' 'Behind the Green Door,' starring Marilyn Chambers. Over 18 years (1972-1990), he appeared in hundreds of films, including 'Portrait of Seduction' (1976, X-Caliber Best Supporting Actor), 'Cool Sheets' (1989, AVN Best Actor), and 'Case of the Sensuous Sinners' (1988, AVN Best Actor). Collaborating with icons like Jamie Gillis, John Leslie, Ginger Lynn, and Georgina Spelvin, Martin won multiple AVN awards, XRCO Hall of Fame induction (1989), and Legends of Erotica (2012).
