Colleen Marie Applegate (May 30, 1963 – March 23, 1984), professionally known as Shauna Grant, was an iconic American pornographic actress and nude model of the early 1980s. Born in Bellflower, California, she relocated to Farmington, Minnesota, following her father's job with a telephone company. A high school cheerleader, she graduated in 1981 and worked briefly as a cashier and repair clerk. After a suicide attempt in late 1981 and running away with boyfriend Mike Marcell in March 1982, she arrived in Los Angeles and entered the adult industry through World Modeling Agency.
Posing for magazines like Penthouse, Hustler, and Swank, she adopted the stage name Shauna Grant, suggested by producer Bobby Hollander, and starred in over 30 hardcore films including 'Virginia,' 'Suzie Superstar,' and 'Flesh and Laces.' Earning up to $1,500 per day and $100,000 total, her career was marred by cocaine addiction—earning her the nickname 'Applecoke'—herpes, an abortion, and relationship turmoil. Retiring in 1983 after meeting cocaine dealer Jake Ehrlich, she faced eviction and family pressure. On March 23, 1984, at 20, she died by suicide via self-inflicted .
