Jennifer Welles was an American pornographic actress born on March 15, 1937, in New Jersey. She began her career in the late 1960s with softcore sexploitation films produced in New York, including titles like Sex by Advertisement and Submission. Transitioning to hardcore pornography in the mid-1970s, she starred in Honeypie and gained fame with her 1977 film Inside Jennifer Welles, an allegedly autobiographical classic of the Golden Age of Porn that she reportedly wrote and directed. Welles also appeared in mainstream productions such as The Groove Tube.
Prior to adult films, she worked as a stripper, burlesque dancer, and lounge performer, and studied acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse. Standing at 5 feet 2 inches, she retired after a career spanning softcore to explicit content and passed away on June 26, 2018, in Arizona at age 81. Her work highlighted mature performers in the industry during that era.
